Batanes—the beautiful city of Basco is on every Filipino’s bucket list of places to travel. Located in the Cagayan Valley region, it’s a stunning archipelago province which is frequented by photographers of every level, to take in the beauty of picture perfect hills and gorgeous beaches from their camera lens. Batanes is shrouded in mystery, much of the reason why travelers visit in large flocks every year!
This mystical and lovely city has much to offer in the guise of several beautiful and popular attractions. Marlboro Country is one. Chamented Tinan Cove is another. And let’s not forget the dazzling white sand beaches, sprawled across the city. Visit Chadpidah and Nakabauang beach, purely to view the amazing coastline!
Nowhere will travelers get to see such hilly and mountainous terrain which makes Batanes a lovely playground for hikers and mountain climbers. Nature enthusiasts can also come and enjoy the view, dive into the crystal clear water when they feel like it.
Visit Batanes in summertime (March to June), considered unanimously as the best time of the year! On the other hand, December to February is the ideal time to enjoy mildly ‘winter’ weather.
Batanes, with its capital city Basco, is the northernmost archipelago province in the Philippines located in the Cagayan Valley region. It is on every Filipino’s bucket list and is a photographer’s dream destination because of its picturesque hills and gorgeous beaches. This place is so mystical and mesmerizing that you will never forget it.
There are several top attractions that you can visit there, including the Batanes Hedgegrows, Chawa Viewdeck, Marlboro Country, Mahato Viewdeck, Imnajbu Roadcliff, Mahayao Ark, Morong Beach, Valugan Boulder Beach, Vayang Rolling Hills, and Chamanted Tinan Cove. I would also include the Chadpidah and Nakabauang Beach because of their amazing coastlines; you can also visit the beautiful traditional stone houses and enjoy the rolling hills here. Almost half of the landscape is hilly and mountainous which I think makes the place very iconic in itself, so head to the hills: hike, enjoy the view, take jump shots if you will!
Summer in Batanes is from March to June which is the best time to visit the island since there is minimal rain and it is sunny most of the time. But if you want to experience winter, you may visit from December to February.
